The Great Barrier Reef Foundation

The Great Barrier Reef Foundation is solving the most complex and challenging problems facing the survival of the Great Barrier Reef. It funds independent science, on ground projects and innovative technologies from the best minds across Australia and beyond to protect and restore the Reef for future generations.

CSENS is proud to support The Great Barrier Reef Foundation and its work to protect and restore the Great Barrier Reef for future generations. The Great Barrier Reef is the largest living structure on Earth. Spanning 2300km, it is visible from space and is one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

The Reef is coming under increasing pressure from a growing combination of manmade and natural threats. A changing climate and rising water temperatures, poorer water quality from sediment run-off and pollution, as well as more severe cyclones and crown-of-thorns starfish outbreaks, are just some of the threats creating a perfect storm for the Reef and the marine life that depends on it.

Saving the Reef is a huge task, but it’s one that can be achieved with support. Donations enable the Great Barrier Reef Foundation to fund projects like coral IVF to rebuild coral reefs, restoring Reef Islands to protect precious marine life, 3D mapping of the Reef and coral DNA sequencing to help increase knowledge of the Reef and how to protect it.
